Frank J. Wessels, M.D.

Dr. Wessels graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York with a B.S. in Biology and Sociology. He went on to attend Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Wessels then completed six years of General Surgery Residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He later pursued further specialty training with a one-year Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship at the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando.

Dr. Wessels is Board Certified in Surgery and Board Certified in Colon and Rectal Surgery. Prior to joining Dr. Saleeby in the summer of 2006, he practiced for almost three years in New Orleans. Dr. Wessels is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Member of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. While trained and proficient in all aspects of the specialty of colon and rectal surgery, Dr. Wessels focuses on the medical and surgical management of anal and rectal conditions as well as colonoscopy.
